About P-DTR
The Healthy Option
P-DTR is totally different to all therapies currently being practiced in the UK. It is the only therapy to utilise functional neurology to address the root cause of the signs and symptoms you are experiencing. It is a scientific therapy brain-child by a Mexican surgeon who no longer operates in favour of practicing this technique.

P-DTR uses the brain and central nervous system to find and treat the original physical or emotional trauma that is causing the undesired symptoms which can include pain, limited range of motion, eye problems, behavioural issues, skin issues and many more. Many treatments are one offs - once an issue is treated it should not return – however, if it returns it shows that there is something possibly underlying yet to be found which could be physical or emotional. Our body has many receptors all through it and these receptors are what enable the body to propriocept properly. Trauma make these receptors send faulty information to the brain, which the brain then acts on with a faulty movement (based off the faulty information). With P-DTR I assess this and restore the receptor to its original condition allowing it to send precise and correct information to the brain for it to act on, and in turn relieving the pain, restoring the muscle to it's correct state of being and enabling movement etc.

Cranial sacral therapy aims to improve the flow of spinal fluid, thought to be intrinsic to physical and mental well-being. Practitioners place their hands on specific parts of the body, including the skull and sacrum (the base of the spine), and claim to detect patterns of tissue congestion.

Chiropractic treatment is a method of adjusting the bones of the body to improve skeletal alignment – in P-DTR we do not adjust or move bones, although they will move as I restore the muscle function. I do have a specific spinal fixation technique but this is for receptors that are causing vertebrae to sit locked together and treating the receptors let the vertebrae regain it’s movement. In chiropractic you can loosen off these vertebrae however as soon as the receptor that is causing the issue is stimulated again it will return the vertebrae to being locked together again.
In P-DTR it has been shown that chiropractic work can be undone immediately afterwards as the muscles are still in their previous state of contraction and relaxation – see this youtube video for an example of chiropractic work being undone and subsequently treated by P-DTR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBAYzFI3hxc – moving the bone will not change the status of the muscles.

Treatment wise – P-DTR treatment consists of testing some muscles to find out the functionality of the central nervous system and body, then finding the primary and secondary receptors that are causing the functionality issues, treating them and re assessing the muscles previously tested. It takes substantially less time to treat each dysfunction and is very specific so I can normally address several issues in a session, which lasts around an hour.

I have found so far with behavioural issues that one treatment generally has been enough, however all horses and humans are different so some may require a second session or more. If it is for a chronic injury it may take 3-6 sessions to get it totally healed but once addressed correctly it should not require more sessions. Unlike most therapies currently available – once it has been sorted with P-DTR fully, it should not require maintenance sessions and the dysfunction should not return.

Having had both treatments myself, from a personal perspective - I can say that the cranial is a really long therapy session that feels amazing for a week or so then the effects begin to diminish and it needs to be redone to re-achieve the results, whereas the P-DTR treatment is a much quicker treatment, the effects of P-DTR are obvious through muscle testing, you can feel it really quickly (often immediately, sometimes it takes a day or so) and then it just stays adjusted – in many situations.

It is important to acknowledge that the body is like an onion, it has layers of dysfunctions and taking one away can bring another one out – but in this situation, it is progress and the body is telling us it wants to have these additional sessions for it to work in optimal condition.
As horse owners and riders all we want is for our horse to be in as good a shape as possible. With P-DTR we can make sure all the horse’s muscles are functioning properly and that there is no undue strain on the central nervous system from the horses environment. A muscle should be able to contract and relax as required if it is working properly. All too often there are muscles that are either stuck in ‘off’ or ‘on’. This is when you see muscle wastage or tension, difficulty in certain movements and stiff movements.

During my sessions I restore these ‘stuck’ muscles to normal and allow the horse to work with a more organised central nervous system, giving the horse (and rider too if they want) the edge it needs to out perform the competition. We have found that working on the rider first and restoring their muscle function produces some great results as they sit straighter on their horse and therefore the horse has to compensate less for their rider and can focus on themselves and their muscles.

If there is a another session needed I ask the horse or rider at the end of the session when it wants to see me rather than put it onto a schedule I feel is appropriate. Often I find that although the problem I came to deal with has been remedied, people are so impressed with the technique and it’s results that they like to have more sessions to correct further issues – after all who has managed to get through life with just 1 or 2 problems?
The therapy has so much scope on so many levels, it really is hard to do it justice – I can test organs (often related to emotions), the food you or they are eating to see if it agrees with central nervous systems, do neurological tack fittings where we make sure no piece of tack is causing a problem to the central nervous system and all sorts of weird and wonderful things with P-DTR that just make the horse, owner and riders lives better and better and in turn their performance gets better and better too.
The benefits of P-DTR are endless. It really is the most exciting therapy I have ever come across. Having worked with horses for over 20 years I never found anything close to this technique to help my horses or I and am so excited to bring it to the UK and let people feel the benefit.
What is P-DTR?
P-DTR is a unique neurological therapy based on neurology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, anatomy and profound research. It works directly with Central Nervous System and has a logical scientific explanation for all of its teachings. Under the guidance of Dr. Jose Palomar (founder) P-DTR is constantly being researched, and the scope of practical application of its unique material is being expanded on a yearly basis. It has been successfully used in clinical practice for several years and P-DTR is the first neurological manual therapy based on neurology, neurophysiology, biomechanics and basics of Applied Kinesiology.

Put simply, P-DTR is the practical application of theoretical neurology. The inspiration and source material for this technique is drawn primarily from a profound understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology and orthopaedics. All of the information that is delivered as part of our practitioners educational journey can be found in any neurology, physiology or orthopaedic textbook anywhere in the world. The difference is that P-DTR training will enable our practitioners to understand exactly how to interact with all of the neurological theory in each and every person that they treat. The textbook knowledge becomes immediately applicable to each person being assessed and treated using P-DTR which enables both practitioner and patient to see neurology acting and adapting in real time.

Unique to P-DTR as a therapy, is an understanding of the role that sensory nerve endings or receptors play in the function and processes of the central nervous system. P-DTR uses receptors as its entry point to understand, assess and treat all kinds of dysfunction, pain and symptoms that it is possible to experience in the human form.
How does P-DTRÂ work?
The best simile I can give you is that we are technically like a computer. Our bones, ligaments, muscles etc. are the hardware (screen, keyboard, mouse) of our computer, our central nervous system and brain are our software (Windows 10, Linux or OSX) and the firmware (permanent software programmed into a read-only memory) is the primitive reflexes and some autonomic unconscious functions our bodies perform.

When the software develops glitches, it sends errant information to the hardware which then functions (incorrectly) on this errant information. Our body has receptors which send and receive this information all through our skin and within our muscles, ligaments, fascia, organs and more - these feed the sensory information back to the software to enable proper proprioception.
P-DTR uses theoretic neurology to reset the dysfunctions in our software and enable the hardware to function in it’s most optimal state. It has so many applications and uses that I just could not stop myself from signing up to start the courses.

P-DTR as a therapy can be used primarily to treat the software and firmware components of the above analogy, however it also has an important role to play in treating the causes of some hardware problems such as chronic degenerative conditions, and also post operatively when changes have been made surgically to the structure or hardware of the body.
What is Emotional Health?
Emotional Health is an indication of our CNS performance and our reaction to an ever changing environment. We process most of the incoming information we receive subconsciously and our emotions are the indicators of the quality of our interaction with the environment. Our emotional reactions depend on how we interpret the incoming information, however emotional maladaptation can cause brain fog, depression, loss of interest for life in general, mood swings and many other problems which may affect the quality of our life. Social, conscious psychological problems may be a result of complex maladaptive subconscious activity of our CNS and physical dysfunction may affect our emotions and vice versa.

Another modality is one that treats the energetic and metaphysical side of health by assessing and treating emotional health and hormonal imbalances. Our cognitive health is our ability to think and logically structure our life strategy, it is our ability to interpret ourselves and the world around us on a conscious level.
To achieve the best results in life, we have to make decisions all the time, and our cognitive processes are vital for our performance at work, our relationships and any other socially significant targets. Conscious cognitive interpretation will affect our emotional reactions and inaccurate interpretation of ourselves in our environment may potentially affect all our systems.
Will it work on Me?
Reflexes are the basis of all processes in the human biological system and they are an automatic response after a stimulus has been administered. The complexity of the sum of our reflexes determines our conscious and unconscious behaviour and any stimulus may potentially cause inhibition or facilitation of our reflexive systems or induce a background to create a new reflex which will directly influence our motor, endocrine and vegetative responses.
The balance and integrity of the facilitatory and inhibitory processes in the CNS is the base for proper Neurological Health. In case of maladaptation, CNS may attempt to create a solution to compensate for the malfunctioning of its systems in order to maintain its homeostasis, balance and functioning.
We usa a neurological, reflexogenic system that efficiently treats a wide spectrum of functional problems and solves musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, hormonal, chemical, and emotional dysfunctions. Dysfunction is a physiological and reflexive disorder that, in most cases, has a compensatory mechanism. The main goal of the P-DTR treatment is to restore the optimal reflexive activity of the nervous system to a stimulus. This includes its motor, vegetative, and sensory response, which would result in no symptoms of pain or discomfort as perceived by the client, optimal range of motion, and accurate appropriate adaptation to the conditions of the external environment.
In other words…..Yes.
